Leading FCS Programs into the Future

A Network of State Administrators

Picture
State administrators of Family & Consumer Sciences Education serve a critical role in leading FCS programs. They often have responsibilities to collaborate with business partners, develop standards and curriculum, evaluate local CTE programs, identify industry-recognized credentials, recruit FCS teachers, coordinate professional development for teachers, support the intracurricular Career & Technical Student Organization, the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), promote best practices and research-based instruction, provide technical support and assistance to local administrators, and advocate for Family & Consumer Sciences. State administrators typically work for the state education agency that serves as the administrator of Career & Technical Education (CTE) funding and program leadership.

Locate your state's FCS Education administrator using the map below, if your state does not have an administrator or FCS Education program, consider contacting your state's CTE Director, State Board of Education, and/or elected officials to advocate for state FCS Education leadership.
