Hospitality & Food Production

Feeding the American Economy

By 2028 Food Service careers careers are expected to grow by 10.9% and Food Production careers by 2.9%.
-U.S. Dept. of Labor
The Hospitality & Food Production career field includes career pathways that promote food and nutrition, culinary arts, and hospitality careers. Leveraging FCS to support these pathways can result in professionals
who are experts in nutrition and dietetics, food production and manufacturing, and hospitality and tourism. With additional training and education, these high-demand career pathways lead to opportunities for family sustaining wages. Communities are investing in hospitality and tourism as a key strategy to attract and retain young people who value communities with chef-centric food and beverage  establishments and local attractions. The food and nutrition sciences and technology pathway prepares students to address challenging problems in food systems as they explore product development, food security, and nutrition’s impact on the human body.
